Project Manager

Compensation: $105,000-135,000/year.

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead engineering projects while also possessing the versatility to manage projects outside the engineering domain. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. The ideal candidate will excel in managing timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Project Management:
    1. Lead the planning, execution, and closure of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
    2. Collaborate with engineering teams to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
    3. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, and communicate updates to stakeholders regularly.
    4. Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
    5. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to drive alignment and achieve project goals.
  2. Cross-Functional Project Management:
    1. Apply project management best practices to manage projects outside the engineering domain, such as product launches, process improvements, or organizational initiatives.
    2. Partner with stakeholders from different departments, including marketing, operations, finance, and human resources, to define project requirements and deliverables.
    3. Coordinate resources, tasks, and timelines to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with business objectives.
    4. Serve as a liaison between cross-functional teams, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks.
    5. Implement project management tools and methodologies to streamline project workflows and improve collaboration across teams.
  3. Resource Allocation and Management:
    1. Allocate resources effectively to support multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and demands.
    2. Work with functional managers to identify resource requirements and ensure adequate staffing for project teams.
    3. Optimize resource utilization to maximize productivity and efficiency while minimizing project delays or bottlenecks.
    4. Monitor resource capacity and workload to identify potential constraints and proactively address resource allocation challenges.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    1. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the project management function.
    2. Implement best practices, tools, and techniques to enhance project delivery and streamline workflows.
    3. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the project management team and across the organization.
    4. Solicit feedback from stakeholders and project team members to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a focus on engineering projects; experience managing cross-functional projects is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
