Are you an experienced MES/SCADA Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to work with a leading integrator in the industrial automation industry? Wright Technical Services is supporting a new client who is actively seeking a talented and motivated MES/SCADA Engineer to join their team. As an MES/SCADA Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects across various industries and be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting manufacturing execution systems (MES) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. This is a fully remote position that can be worked anywhere in the United States.
Job Duties
• Design industrial networks as required for automation projects.
• Support the engineering department in the selection of network and MES-related hardware.
• Possess the ability to handle a dynamic workload with minimum supervision.
• Design database structures for MES and automation applications.
• Design and develop system concepts following customer requirements.
• Work closely with the Controls Engineering department to develop HMI and MES programs for mating with control systems
• Travel to customer sites for installation, debugging, and commissioning of network and MES applications and equipment (less than 20% of the time and for 2 weeks or less)
• Troubleshoot and diagnose networks and MES solutions remotely and occasionally at the customer’s site.
• Communicate with customers to determine needs, requirements, and expectations.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager for milestone completion strategizing.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in industrial network design.
• Database knowledge and experience (MySQL and SQL Server).
• Experience designing industrial networks. • Experience with L3 switches (CISCO or Rockwell Stratix).
• Experience with SCADA (Rockwell Factory Talk View SE and/or Ignition).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to set up communication hardware and test your design solutions.
• Programming knowledge in Python, Java and/or RESTful Web APIs desirable (or willing to learn).
• HMI factory floor interface experience (FactoryTalk View SE and/or Ignition).
• Knowledge of Industrial Communication Protocols (Ethernet/IP, MODBUS TCP and Siemens PROFINET)
• Experience designing, testing, and implementing networked systems for industrial automation.
• Willing to travel more than 20% of the time (preferred, not required)
• Experience working for a controls system integrator.
