Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile engineer with a unique blend of mechanical and electrical expertise. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both disciplines, with demonstrated proficiency in writing ladder logic for PLCs and a passion for reverse engineering various types of machinery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimization of complex systems across multiple industries.

Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical and Electrical Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and integrate mechanical and electrical components into innovative systems and machinery. Leverage expertise in both disciplines to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  2. PLC Programming: Develop and implement ladder logic programs for PLCs to control and automate machinery and processes. Utilize your deep understanding of electrical systems and programming languages to enhance efficiency and functionality.
  3. Reverse Engineering: Analyze and dissect various types of machinery to understand their components, functions, and interactions. Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to reverse engineer complex systems, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions.
  4. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in existing systems and equipment. Conduct thorough inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliability and uptime.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Documenting processes and work is a critical aspect of this role. Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, test results, and project milestones.
  6. Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical and electrical engineering, PLC programming, and reverse engineering. Pursue opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement to drive innovation and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering roles, with a focus on integrated systems and machinery.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic) and experience with industrial automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including kinematics, dynamics, and materials science.
  • Demonstrated ability to reverse engineer complex machinery and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools is a plus.
  • Basic welding experience would be a plus.
