• Develop new and customize existing PLC programs for discrete manufacturing processes, motion control, and material handling control systems to meet customer-specific requirements following applicable design best practices and internal company standards.
• Possess the ability to handle a dynamic workload with minimum supervision.
• Work in the control platforms of primarily Allen Bradley’s Logix and, on occasion, Siemens Simatic S7. It is expected that the Controls Engineers specifies/selects adequate control hardware including controllers, I/O (both local and remote), communication hardware and other related controls hardware.
• Programming and program execution in PLC controllers. Proficient use of Rockwell Automation’s Studio 5000 software package. Experience with Siemens’s TIA Portal package is a plus.
• Interface such PLC controllers/programs with AC and DC drives through industrial networks, mainly Ethernet/IP and Profinet. Drive manufacturers include, but are not limited to, Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Yaskawa, and Control Techniques.
• Work closely with the Data/MES Engineering department to collaborate in the development of HMI and MES programs to be mated with the control systems developed.
