Engineering Talent Demand Week of April 8th, 2024 – Four by May
This week we saw another increase in the Engineering Demand ratio to 3.76 current job openings for every one engineer looking for work. Last week was at 3.51. Our prediction remains that we’ll cross over the four threshold going into May.
One interesting observation, the demand for Mechanical Engineers continues to increase more than other disciplines week over week. This aligns with Wright Technical Services’ own recruiting efforts. Mechanical Engineers has historically been the easiest search in technical recruiting. There was always plenty of engineers to go around. This is no longer the case as filling Mechanical roles now takes slightly longer than other engineering roles. Our clients share the same sentiment.
