Current Engineering Demand Ratio

Talent Demand Chart

For the week of January 29th, 2024 the Engineering Demand Ratio is four to one. This metric is published by Wright Technical Services and is updated on our website weekly.

The current Engineering Demand Ratio represents four open engineering jobs for every one Engineering candidate actively looking for a new job. The team at Wright looks across several leading job boards and then at the pool of engineers actively looking for work.

The Engineering Demand Ratio when Wright first measured this data in March of 2023 was 7 to 1. More specifically there were seven open jobs to every one individual looking for a new role at that time. The number of open Engineering jobs has consistently decreased since that time. Likewise the number of Engineers actively looking for new jobs has increased.
