Wright Technical is representing a client in the Electric Motor space who are in need of a seasoned Senior Electromechanical Engineer to spearhead design and optimization of projects related to their electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modeling and simulation, testing and validation best practices, and will be able to provide technical leadership to the engineering team.
Responsibilities
– Prioritize safety and uphold integrity in technical work and stakeholder interactions.
– Lead the development and application of advanced modeling and simulation methods to enhance design and optimization processes.
– Establish and oversee testing procedures to validate components and improve design tool fidelity.
– Analyze models and prototype testing results to provide strategic design recommendations while fostering open communication.
– Build and maintain relationships with academic and industry partners to enhance design tools, support development efforts, and facilitate technology transfer for company intellectual property.
– Collaborate with internal design engineers on customer projects to refine and optimize component technologies, ensuring client satisfaction.
– Coordinate efforts with engineers and suppliers to effectively develop and validate components based on optimized designs.
– Improve modeling, design tools, and validation methods through feedback, research, and collaborative projects.
– Manage tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining high work quality that aligns with company values.
– Complete responsibilities with urgency and accountability, ensuring timely execution and validation of critical designs.
– Author and review technical documentation, including reports, white papers, and project proposals.
– Contribute to and lead proposals for funding opportunities, serving as principal investigator or key technical personnel.
– Represent the company as a subject matter expert at professional conferences and deliver approved presentations.
– Provide technical leadership and fulfill additional duties as required, fostering a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications
– MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, with a strong emphasis on safety.
– Minimum of 5 years in electromechanical or electric machine design with a proven record of integrity and communication.
– Expertise in electromagnetic theory, thermal management, and mechanical design.
– Proficient in advanced design optimization techniques and simulation software (e.g., Ansys, Comsol) with a history of high-quality outcomes.
– In-depth knowledge of testing and validation processes for electromechanical systems, prioritizing safety.
– Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
– Established history in project management, consistently delivering outcomes aligned with company objectives.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
– Ability to lead and mentor teams in a collaborative environment, helping team members achieve their best.
