Wright Technical Services is supporting a top integrator client in their search for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join their expanding Power & Energy Business Unit. This role involves analyzing, designing, and optimizing power systems, including switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, and panelboards for distribution infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient operations while meeting industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

– Analyze electrical loads and power needs for automation systems and facilities.

– Design power systems, including distribution, switchgear, switchboards, and MCCs.

– Conduct power flow, harmonics, and stability studies to ensure system reliability.

– Specify electrical components like switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers.

– Utilize design tools such as Siemens Encompass and Square D’s SE Advantage.

– Develop protection schemes for equipment and personnel safety.

– Collaborate with mechanical and control engineers for system integration.

– Perform short-circuit calculations to size protective devices.

– Stay current with advancements in power systems, including renewable energy and microgrids.

– Prepare project-related technical reports and documentation.

– Work with stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.

– At least 3 years of experience in power systems engineering for industrial or commercial sectors.

– Strong grasp of power system theory, including generation, transmission, and distribution.

– Proficient in power system analysis software like PSCAD, PSS/E, or ETAP.

– Experience with short-circuit calculations and protective device coordination principles.

– Skilled in AutoCAD Electrical.

– Familiar with electrical codes and standards: UL1558, UL891, UL67, UL845, UL 508A.

– Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

– Capable of working independently and managing multiple projects.

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
