Wright Technical Services is excited to support a top manufacturing client seeking a Designer/Drafter to enhance their Plant Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional skilled in 3D modeling and 2D drafting to play a crucial role in implementing capital projects and providing engineering support for their Cleveland-based operations.
Role Overview
The Designer/Drafter will focus on creating and modifying 3D models, drafting detail manufacturing drawings, and designing facility layouts. Key responsibilities include:
– Collaborating with Plant Engineers and various departments to develop and adjust designs.
– Reverse engineering components from physical parts or legacy drawings.
– Managing electronic files using document systems or databases.
– Assisting with the development and upkeep of templates and schematics.
– Ensuring adherence to CAD standards and resolving documentation issues.
– Supporting fabrication with necessary file creation (e.g., .DXF, .PDF, .STP).
– Documenting existing production and facility support equipment.
– Taking on additional responsibilities as needed to meet departmental and company goals.
Qualifications
– High School diploma or GED required; at least 3 years of experience in design and drafting.
– Proficiency in Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Catia, or NX; familiarity with AutoCAD.
– Experience with data management systems (e.g., Autodesk Vault, Siemens TeamCenter).
– Knowledge of measurement tools (micrometers, calipers) and exposure to machine shop or metal manufacturing processes.
– Basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft applications.
– Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
– Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working independently.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
– Ability to perform equipment measurements and develop design concepts on the production floor.
– A problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovative solutions.
