IT Project Manager- Security & Remediation

Compensation: $130,000- $150,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical IT Security Project Manager to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing IT Security Projects, and will be instrumental in launching a critical Security/ Remediation project that requires structure and organization of roles. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent leadership and communication skills to ensure the successful delivery of complex security projects. 


  • Must be local to Daytona Beach area and able to be on-site 3x per week
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of project management experience in IT, with a focus on security projects.
  • Proven experience managing projects in a Microsoft environment, specifically with Azure.
  • Experience working with commonly used security tools and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Azure Security Center, SIEM solutions).
  • Previous experience in organizing and structuring roles within a project team, especially in security/remediation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure and its security features.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello).
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: 

    • Lead and manage IT security projects from initiation through completion, with a specific focus on launching a Security/Remediation project.
    • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Technical Leadership:

    • Provide technical direction and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of security solutions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
    • Ensure that security solutions are aligned with business objectives and comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
    • Facilitate meetings and presentations to ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
    • Develop and implement risk management plans to ensure project success.
    • Conduct regular project risk assessments and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure the quality and integrity of project deliverables.
    • Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
    • Implement and oversee quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, reports, and other relevant materials.
    • Prepare and deliver regular project status reports to senior management.
    • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Role Organization:

    • Establish clear roles and responsibilities within the project team.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful role execution.
    • Organize and manage project team structure to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
