Job Summary
The Direct Channel General Manager is responsible for all activities involved in selling custom tooling machines, managing a technical center where applicable and activities involved in after-sale customer support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 8+ years in a technical sales role in a machine tooling industry (CNC and related)
  • Required experience leading or managing a sales team (ideally 3+ years)
  • Experience managing and growing existing accounts, and generating new business
  • Ability to manage budgets, forecast sales plans, and analyze market sales trends
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM is preferred
  • Proven proficiency in Quality Control, Strategic Planning, Resource Management, and Marketing
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Description

  • Manage and support the day-to-day activities of the staff and business of a direct sales channel.
  • Develop and support the creation and execution of Fiscal Year(s) unit forecast across all products in collaboration with the local sales team. Once the unit forecast is completed locally, this forecast will be formally presented to sales management and regional sales management for review, input and finally acceptance.
  • Develop and support the 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day forecast in collaboration with the local sales team. Opportunities identified in the forecast will be the responsibility of the individual account-based salesperson.
  • Strategic plan for territory including reviewing market potential, develops forecasts and business plans, and drives sales to meet forecasted goals in collaboration with sales management and regional sales management.
  • Exercise good business judgement in delivering the product portfolio margin as outlined withing the territory goals. The margin authorities will be established locally and will be reviewed from the perspective of portfolio margin versus individual machine margin.
  • Actively participate in monthly sales meetings. Challenge the status quo.
  • Develop account-based sales assignments or geographic territory sales assignments across direct reports
  • Execute strategic plan for territory including developing tactical goals, results measurements, and resource allocation.
  • Increases sales effectiveness by educating sales force, managing use of sales tools.
  • Driving the discipline and use of Salesforce CRM
  • Facilitating communication & cooperation with other facilities, channels, and resources
  • Collaborating with sales and regional management in directing activities associated with winning large orders.
  • Manage technical center and any associated staff where applicable.
  • Direct operation activities in compliance with applicable safety regulations
